friends forever

'These are the days we'll remember forever." ~ unknown

A little bit of our weekend with dear friends... Emily is 5, Will is 4 and he has a big crush on this pretty little girl. Will was pretending that he was 'Clark Kent'...that's why he's wearing the glasses. ;)

We spent 2 days with Grace's best friend Julia and her sister Emily. Julia is a lover of horses and asked Grace to go along with her to ride. Grace had her first lesson. She was a little nervous at first, but truly did love it...her horse's name was Royal.

Though we live 2 hours apart, these 2 girls always pick up where they left off. Julia's mother and I make it a point to get our daughters together as often as we can. I love to see them giggle, play and catch up with what's going on in their lives. Two girls born on the same day, brought to the same SWI, and adopted by American parents who happened to live in the Chicago area at the time of their adoptions. I believe they'll be friends always, and will do anything to help this friendship flourish. They are sisters in so many ways.

Julia 'Hui Mei' and Grace 'Lan Li.'

Both born 8/6/2002, our beautiful Jiangxi girls.

Soon to be 8 years old in early August...the time goes so fast doesn't it? It seems like they were just babies.

Wonderful pictures of the children and horses.
What a gift, to be able to sometimes visit with her China "sister" from the same SWI. That is awesome.

We feel exactly this same way about Red Fish, although our girls were born two days apart, but they were found on the same day. So glad your Grace has such a strong connection with Julia!

I am so glad that Grace has a friend that she is so connected with. I so with that Sophia was as fortunate. These photos are absolutely beautiful!

Wonderful. We have a similar story too and I know Dahlia and her bff will always be close. (And we live about 8 minutes apart....double bonus.)

Yes Gail - it is going too fast. In a few years our "babies" will be teens (oh help!)
:)

Grace sure looked beautiful on the back of that horse. What a great activity to share with her best buddy. And how cute are those Clark Kent glasses? What a hoot!

Such wonderful memories you have captured. It looks like everyone had a great time together. Oh how I wish I lived closer to Liam's crib mate. One of these days we plan on meeting and finally reuniting the two of them. Love the pictures of the horseback riding and "Clark Kent". Such beautiful children!

I haven't touched one of my pictures of last weeks photo shoot. I'm having a hard time finding the desire to post-process. I think my mind and body is starting to go into "slow motion" mode just in time for summer. ;-) I plan on doing a little bit of tweaking tonight so I can post some tomorrow.

Amazing images, Gail. The children are all beautiful together...that's what life is about...watching them grow before our eyes and knowing that in some small way, we get to play a part in it.
